Pumps are not created equal!

Most pool companies will sell you an "up-rated" pump, meaning a 1 hp pump is really a 3/4 hp pump, a 1-1/2 hp is really a 1 hp pump.

How do you tell if you are being ripped off by this scheme?

Look at the horsepower (HP) and service factor (SF) numbers on the motor, if the service factor is a smaller number than the horsepower, you bought an up-rated pump. If their is no numbers for the hp or sf, this is also an up-rated pump. There is nothing wrong with an up-rated pump, just a lower price and less power.

Be sure when shopping against our pumps, you realize that we sell "Full Rated" Pumps. Full Rated pumps will have a higher service factor number than the horsepower.
